Aside from Filho’s involvement with the group, he joins his billionaire sister Ana Lucia de Mattos Barretto Villela in the support of Alana Institute. It’s a non-profit organization they co-founded in 1994 with the aim to promote social work, education and culture. Born in Sao Paulo in 1969, he lost his parents in a plane crash and he and his sister were raised by their aunt, Maria de Lourdes. Speaking of Maria de Lourdes, she has a multi-million-dollar fortune of her own and is one of the largest individual shareholders in Itausa.
