Jones served as a Member of the U.S House of Representatives from Georgia’s 4th district from 1989 to 1993 as a Democrat. In 1998 Jones asked President Bill Clinton to resign. He ran for a seat in the United States House from Virginia in 2002 but was unsuccessful.
