Playing in the defensive tackle position, he was a four-time Pro Bowl Selection, as well as four-time All-Pro selection. It was on January 14, 2011 that Young got hired as the defensive line coach for the University of Florida Gators football team a post that he abruptly resigned in April, 2013 to spend more time with his family. He was selected for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2022.
