Early Life

Peter DeLuise was born on November 6, 1966, in New York City. Raised in a show business family. His father, Dom DeLuise, was a well-known comedian and his mother Carol Arthur a stage and screen actress—he grew up immersed in the entertainment industry. His brothers, Michael and David, would also go on to have long acting careers.

Acting Career

DeLuise’s breakout came with “21 Jump Street,” where he starred as Officer Doug Penhall opposite Johnny Depp. The show’s success made Peter a household name, and his real-life brother Michael later joined the cast as his on-screen brother. Peter went on to star as Dagwood in the sci-fi series “SeaQuest DSV” and made guest appearances on numerous shows, including “Friends,” “Highlander: The Series,” and “Andromeda.” He also appeared in a cameo role in the 2012 film reboot of “21 Jump Street.”

Writing, Producing & Directing

Peter began working behind the camera in the late 1990s, starting with “Stargate SG-1” where he became a key creative force. He wrote and directed dozens of episodes and served as an executive producer. He went on to work extensively on “Stargate Atlantis” and “Stargate Universe,” and directed episodes of “Kyle XY,” “When Calls the Heart,” and various Hallmark movies. His directing style often includes cameos and nods to his comedy roots.

Personal Life

Peter was married to actress Gina Nemo from 1988 to 1992. In 2002, he married Canadian actress Anne Marie Loder. They have one son, born in 2004. Peter lives in North America and continues to work steadily as a director and producer.

Real Estate

In 1968, Peter’s parents, Dom and Carol DeLuise, purchased a home in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood for $103,000. After Dom’s death in 2009, the family retained the home for over a decade before selling it in December 2021 for $6.49 million. In 1980, Dom and Carol built a 3,000-square-foot oceanfront home in Malibu. Like the Palisades property, the family held on to it long after Dom’s passing. It was sold in November 2021 for $10.5 million. The buyer quickly resold it within the same year for $18 million. Between both transactions, the DeLuise family generated around $17 million from the two real estate sales in late 2021.
