Barri became the A&R chief at Warner Bros. Records and produced Alan O’Day’s “Undercover Angel”. He joined Motown Records in 1982 as vice president of A&R and produced for The Temptations, Lionel Richie, and Rick James. Barri has also worked with Capitol Records, Left Bank Management, and Gold Circle Entertainment/Samson Records.
