His best known acting role came in the TV series The Red Green Show from 1991 to 2006 for which he also served as a writer. Smith also starred in the movies Delta Pi, The Chase, Sherlock: Undercover Dog, and Duct Tape Forever. He hosts the Steve Smith Playhouse and started a one man show called How to do Everything (From the Man who Should Know) in 2013. Smith has won two Gemini Awards and has been nominated for 21 others.
