He started the company with $350,000 and within six years, it was worth $600 million. As the computer market changed, he sold the company, and attempted to launch a new one, but it was a disaster. While returning from a business trip in Asia, he became one of the survivors of a deadly Singapore Airlines crash. He decided to sell all of his companies and shift his focus. He launched Vizio, Inc., a consumer electronics company in 2002, and it has since grown to nearly $3 billion in revenue.
